Baltit Fort is an old fort in Karimabad, Hunza. It was once the home of the rulers of Hunza. The fort is over 700 years old, with parts rebuilt across centuries. How to Reach
- By Air: The nearest active airport is Gilgit Airport (GIL). From Gilgit, it is about a 2.5 to 3-hour drive to Hunza.
- By Road: Hunza is on the Karakoram Highway (KKH). You can drive from Islamabad or Gilgit. The KKH is a very long but scenic road journey.
- By Train: There is no train service to Hunza. The nearest major active railway station is Rawalpindi Railway Station (RWP). From Rawalpindi, you must travel by road for about 12-15 hours to reach Hunza.
- By Public Transport: From Gilgit, you can find shared vans or jeeps that go regularly to Karimabad, Hunza. Once in Karimabad, you can walk or take a local taxi to Baltit Fort.
