Description
Hushe Valley is a valley located in the Karakoram mountain range in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It sits in the Ghanche District, east of Skardu. The valley stretches from Khaplu town deep into the mountains. It is a starting point for treks to Masherbrum Base Camp and other high peaks. The Hushe River flows through the valley.

Best Season to Visit
Spring: (April to May) The weather is mild and pleasant. Flowers start to bloom. It is a good time for moderate hikes and enjoying the greening landscape.
Summer: (June to August) This is the best time to visit. Temperatures are warm and skies are usually clear. It is ideal for high-altitude trekking and exploring the entire valley.
Monsoon/Rainy: /Rainy: (July to September) Gilgit-Baltistan gets less rain than other parts of Pakistan. Roads can sometimes have issues due to rain, but general travel is possible. The mountains remain accessible for serious trekkers.
Autumn: (September to November) The weather is cool and dry. The valley shows beautiful fall colors with golden and red leaves. It is perfect for photography and quieter hikes.
Winter: (December to March) The valley gets heavy snowfall and becomes very cold. Many roads to higher areas might close. It is suitable for those who enjoy snow and extreme winter conditions, but access is limited.
How to Reach
- By Air: The nearest active airport is Skardu Airport (KDU). Hushe Valley is about a 4 to 5-hour drive from Skardu Airport, passing through Khaplu.
- By Road: You can drive from Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway to Skardu, then take the road to Khaplu. From Khaplu, a further road leads directly to Hushe village in the valley.
- By Train: Pakistan's railway network does not reach Gilgit-Baltistan. The nearest major active railway station is Rawalpindi Railway Station (RWP). From there, you would need to travel by road for a long distance.
- By Public Transport: From Skardu, shared vans or jeeps regularly go to Khaplu. From Khaplu, local jeeps can be hired or found to take you to Hushe village, which is the main entry point to the valley.
