Monsoon/Rainy: /Rainy: July to September. The area gets some rain, which can make the waterfall flow even stronger. Roads might be slippery, but the landscape is very green.
Autumn: September to October. Cool and comfortable weather. Trees change colors, making the scenery very nice. Water flow remains steady.
Winter: November to March. Very cold, with heavy snowfall. Roads can be blocked, and access to the waterfall might be difficult or impossible. The waterfall may partly freeze.
How to Reach
- By Air: The nearest operational airport is Skardu Airport (SZD), about 100 km away. From Skardu, you will need to travel by road to Kharmang. Gilgit Airport (GIL) is also an option but further.
- By Road: Travel on the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Skardu city. From Skardu, take the road towards Kharmang district. The waterfall is in Shirting village within Kharmang.
- By Train: There are no railway lines in Gilgit-Baltistan. The nearest major railway station is Rawalpindi Railway Station (RWP), which is a very long journey by road from Kharmang (over 15-20 hours drive).
- By Public Transport: Shared vans and jeeps are available from Skardu city to Kharmang district. From Kharmang town, you will need to arrange local transport to Shirting village and the waterfall.
