National Tourism Hero

My name is Shuaib Raza, born in Jhang on 1st May 1975. I completed my early education from Jhang, upto intermediate. Later, I got admission in University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. After earning my M.Phil degree in Agriculture (Horticulture) I started my job as lecturer at College of Agriculture, D.G. Khan, sub-campus, University of Agriculture, faisalabad. Later the name of the institution was reconstituted as Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan. I got married in 2007 and living a happy life with my family in Dera Ghazi Khan.

I started Tourism and Photography in 1990. I have travelled accross all districts of Punjab and few parts of KPK, and documented landscape, architecture, archeological sites, and cultural heritage of all the areas, i visited. My photographic work has been published at many places, like international books, websites, different institutional publications, scholars thesis, media advertisements, and billboards. I have translated some books and got pulished two books on Lahore, as translator. I have participated in many photo-exhibitions, and got 3rd position in an online international competition, held on 2020, on the theme of "Water & Mountain". I have received many awards at Punjab level, and Divisional administration of Dera Ghazi Khan. My photographs have been displayed for beautification of city Dera Ghazi Khan, and few clubs in Lahore and Cantonments. 

I started my photography with a non-profession camera in 1990. Initially I covered heritage of few cities, like Jhang, Chiniot and Lahore. Later, I started using professional Camera Yashica 108 in 1995, and covered beauty of northern areas, including Naran, Kaghan, LalaZar, Siri Pye, Balakot. Later, in 2005 by adopting the digital technology, I started using SONY professional camera and started documenting the architectural and archaeological heritage of different cities. I upgraded cameras with passage of time. In last 35 years I have clicked more than 1 millions of photographs of heritage sites, architecture, landscape, nature, birds, animals and portraits.

1- Two books published on "Lahore" as translator, on the subject of history and places of Lahore

My traveling and tourism starts in 1990. ISnce that time, in last 35 years, i have traveled and coumentd lot of places, all over Punjab and few parts of KPK. 

I have participated in different trainings of photography, and also imparted photographic trainings in my university, and as well as in Dera Ghazi Khan Arts council. 

I have documented non-Muslim heritage and e-published lot of heritage sites. I have translated two books on history & heritage, and got published. I have documented much of the diminishing heritage of Punjab, and the data will be useful for future researchers.
